Caravan Center Düsseldorf expecting 70,000 overnight stays - Better service through optimised reservation system

All caravan enthusiasts who would prefer to spend the night in their own motor home or caravan while visiting CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF can benefit from the Caravan Center at Car Park P1. In all, Messe Düsseldorf provides more than 3,500 parking spaces with and without electricity. During CARAVAN SALON the Caravan Center Düsseldorf will in fact be the biggest car park in Europe. Around 70,000 overnight stays (30,000 vehicles) have been planned for the world’s biggest trade fair on motor homes and caravans, held in Düsseldorf from 27 August to 4 September 2016. The Caravan Center will be open continually from 07:30 to 22:00 hrs. Parking spaces without electricity can be rented for as little as EUR 18 per day (with electricity: EUR 25 per day). Members of the free CARAVAN SALON Club are given a discount.

Parking spaces should be booked early

The reservation system, which was introduced last year, has been improved even further and is now state-of-the-art. This means that users of the Caravan Center can book before they arrive, and there is no longer any need for lengthy waiting times during check-in. “The booking system clearly displays the available parking spaces, so that the user can see straight away on which days the Caravan Center will be fully booked. Due to the large demand, parking spaces get booked up quickly, so we recommend making reservations reasonably early, via the Ticket Shop. We regret that we can give no guarantee for bookings at check-in,” says Detlef Erkeling from the Messe Düsseldorf Logistics Department. The booking system for reservations will open in early July and can then be used by anyone who is interested. The site requires the user to enter their personal details and also their vehicle category (i.e. car with caravan, motor home or motor home with trailer). Once the booking has been made, all they need to do is print out the ticket, so that the supervisory staff at the Caravan Center can then validate the ticket upon the visitor’s arrival.

Modernisation of toilet facilities

Renovation activities are currently in progress throughout the Caravan Center and will be completed in time for CARAVAN SALON. The toilet facilities, in particular, are being extensively refurbished. Once the work has been finished, the entire sanitary facilities will have had a complete facelift. The showers already underwent major refurbishment in 2013. Until then, the complex had six communal showers, whereas it now has 30 individual cubicles, including four big ones for families. Refurbishment also includes the installation of a new ventilation system with state-of-the-art air circulation, based on environment-friendly, energy-saving technology.

Multi-Function Vending Machine

The Caravan Centre is equipped with a multi-function vending machine, ensuring that the trade fair parking lot can be accessed year-round for all trade fairs and events. The machine ensures convenient dispensing and disposal, as well as quick and easy payment. Disposal of greywater and faeces is free of charge, and drinking water can be dispensed at a reasonable price. The Caravan Centre is also extremely popular during all other trade fairs in Düsseldorf, and is used by exhibitors and visitors, as well as construction and dismantling personnel.

Green Light to the Exhibition Centre

Important for your arrival: Düsseldorf has a low-emission zone – the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre, as well as the Caravan Centre, are however outside of this zone when traveling to us via the Autobahn A44. This allows you to visit CARAVAN SALON without an emissions decal. To travel quickly and simply using your navigation system, enter the following address: Am Staad, 40474 Düsseldorf.
